At the time of painting this, we were made to read Antigone in school. At its core and the part of this book that actually resonated with me was the story and love of two sisters. Ismene and Antigone are both beautiful and loving, however, they are very separate individuals. They are divided through their choices, personalities, morals, and maybe most noticeably through their fate. Antigone is about separation, fate, differences, and commonality. Two flowers on the same canvas, made from the same colors, heading different directions.
